What Do I Need For A Road Trip With A Puppy?

When packing and preparing for a road trip with a new Boston Terrier puppy, it's important to bring supplies that will keep them comfortable and safe. Here are some essential items to consider packing: First, bring a crate and a comfortable bed for your puppy to sleep in while they travel along with a doggy blanket. You'll also want to bring along plenty of toys to keep them entertained. Don't forget to bring a leash and a collar with a tag containing your contact information. Bring some water and food bowls, as well as some water, food, and treats. Have an emergency kit just in case along with some paper towels, poop bags, hand wipes, dog wipes, and a towel.

When we brought our first puppy home we put a Heartbeat Puppy plush dog toy in the crate with her and she loved it. She slept with it every night until she was old enough to start sleeping outside of the crate. When we moved from the Pacific Northwest to the South we packed an essential oil spray that we sprayed whenever one of the dogs tooted. Pack it, you will thank us later lol, make sure to pick a sent that is non toxic to dogs.

I like to keep everything organized in a dog travel backpack. This is an item that you can leave stocked with your puppy's travel supplies so that you are always prepared to travel with your puppy in the future. To protect my vehicle's seats I like to put a seat cover, blanket, or towel under the dog crate or seat harness. Give yourself extra time to travel as you will need to let your puppy eat, drink, and potty. I like to line the dog bed with a disposable potty pad just in case the puppy gets an upset stomach or has an accident. Check the weather and plan your route to make sure that you know where you're going to stop to let your puppy potty.

Enjoy the ride and all of these special bonding moments! All of these items will help make the transition to their new home smoother!
