Natural Non-Toxic Cleaners For Dogs

As a dog owner, you know that keeping your furry friend clean and healthy is a top priority. Did you know that you don't have to rely on harsh chemicals to keep your Boston Terrier's coat and living space clean? Natural cleaners are a safe and effective option that can help keep your dog healthy and happy!

One of the best natural cleaners for dogs is vinegar. This versatile substance can be used for a variety of cleaning tasks. For example, you can mix equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle and use it to clean your dog's bedding, toys, and other surfaces. Vinegar is also great for removing odors, so it's a perfect choice for cleaning up after accidents.

Another great natural cleaner for dogs is baking soda. This substance is excellent for removing stains and odors from your dog's coat. You can mix baking soda with water to create a paste and apply it directly to your dog's fur. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Baking soda is also great for freshening up your dog's bedding and other surfaces. Many sources say to let baking soda sit on the carpet and then vacuum it up, but we don't recommend that as we have found baking soda to be hard on our vacuums.

Essential oils are another natural option for cleaning your dog's living space. Some essential oils, such as lavender and eucalyptus, have natural antibacterial properties and can help keep your dog's living space clean and fresh. Just be sure to dilute the essential oils before using them, as they can be too strong for your dog's sensitive nose. Make sure you find out if the essential oils you are using are non-toxic for dogs! For example tea tree essential oil can make dogs sick and should not be used around them.

If you're looking for a natural alternative to traditional dog shampoos, consider using oatmeal. Oatmeal is gentle on your dog's skin and can help soothe dry, itchy skin. You can create a DIY oatmeal shampoo by mixing oatmeal with warm water and using it to wash your dog's coat. In addition to the natural cleaners mentioned above, there are many other options available, such as lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, and even coconut oil. The key is to find the natural cleaners that work best for your dog's individual needs.

Natural, non-toxic cleaners are a safe and effective option for keeping your dog clean and healthy. Whether you're looking to freshen up your dog's bedding, remove stains and odors from their coat, or create a natural shampoo, there are plenty of natural options available. So next time you're cleaning up after your furry friend, consider reaching for a natural cleaner instead of harsh chemicals. Your dog (and the environment) will thank you!
