10 Spring Time Activities To Enjoy With Boston Terriers

Updated: Mar 21, 2023

Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation, and what better way to celebrate than by spending time outdoors with your furry friend? Boston Terriers are a breed known for their playful personalities and love of adventure, making them the perfect companions for all sorts of springtime activities. Here are some fun ideas to enjoy with your Boston Terrier this season.

  1. Go for a Hike: Boston Terriers are energetic dogs that love to explore. Taking them on a hike is a great way to let them expend their energy while also enjoying the great outdoors. Just check the weather first to be prepared for what Mother Nature has in store and be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for you and your pup.

  2. Visit a Dog-Friendly Beach: If you live near the coast, taking your Boston Terrier to the beach can be a fun and exciting way to spend a day. Many beaches allow dogs during the off-season, and your pup will love playing in the sand and surf.

  3. Play Fetch: Boston Terriers are known for their love of fetch, and spring is the perfect time to indulge in this favorite activity. Whether you're in your backyard or at a local park, playing fetch with your Boston Terrier is a great way to bond and get some exercise.

  4. Attend a Dog-Friendly Event: Spring is a popular time for dog-friendly events, such as dog shows and charity walks. Check your local listings to see what events are happening in your area, and bring your Boston Terrier along for the fun.

  5. Go for a Bike Ride: If your Boston Terrier is up for a challenge, taking them on a bike ride can be a fun and exhilarating experience. Just be sure to invest in a quality dog bike trailer or carrier to keep your pup safe and secure.

  6. Go to the Park: Our dogs love going on walks with us at our local parks whether we are going to a stroll or playing frisbee or disc golf. Keep your dog on a leash and remember to clean up after yourself and your dog wherever you go.

  7. Go to the Dog Park: This is a great way to let your Boston Terrier run around off leash and be his or her social, friendly self! Always supervise your dog to help avoid injuries and don't take your puppy until they are old enough and have had their proper vaccinations. Some Bostons, like our Champ, do best with the big dogs and some Bostons, like our Kalei, do best with the small dogs so pick the section of the dog park that is the best for the safety of both your dog and other's dogs.

  8. Go to PetSmart or Petco: Maybe it's too cold to go to the beach or the park where you live and it might be better to stay inside. We love going to our local pet stores to get our puppies new toys in March since the spring cleaning bug is creeping in. If you haven't already this is a great time of year to throw away any old toys that are damaged and replace them with fresh toys.

  9. Go Shopping: There are a lot of places but there are a surprising amount of stores that are dog friendly. Only take your dog to public places if it is well behaved, if you you have a well behaved dog then you might be able to take it shopping with you. Make sure you check first as not all locations are the same but dogs are often allowed in several different places such as Tractor Supply, Cabelas, Nordstroms, Bass Pro Shops, Pottery Barn, LUSH Cosmetics, Macy's, TJMax, Homesence, Marshalls, Barnes & Noble, Harbor Freight Tools, Restoration Hardware, The Gap, Old Navy, Orvis, Victoria's Secret, Hobby Lobby, Micheals, Ross, Ann Taylor & LOFT, Bed Bath & Beyond, Everlane, JOANN Fabrics, LL Bean, Sephora and others. Always ask first, keep your dog on a leash and only take well mannered dogs. When there are spring showers in the air there are still so many fun places to go with your doggo!

  10. Gardening: Most Home Depots and Lowes stores welcome dogs and this is a great time of year to hit those springtime sales on gardening goods!

No matter what activity you choose, spending time with your Boston Terrier this spring it is sure to be a blast with your big personalitied canine companion! Just remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, and always be mindful of your pup's safety and comfort. Happy Spring!
