Hi!  I'm Cassidy Davis the breeder behind Davis Farm Boston Terriers.  I grew up on a cattle & racehorse ranch which led me to get my degree in Equine Journalism and Marketing.  I come from a long line of horse breeders so I guess you could say that breeding is my genes lol.  In my formative years I watched my mom and dad painstakingly and lovingly pour over pedigrees looking for bloodlines to improve their herd of distinctive racehorses and I saw how much enjoyment my parents get out of raising and training their horses and then see them go on to compete and succeed in various sports such as barrel racing, team roping, jumping and more.

Having been a homeschool teacher for 6 years going on 7 and married to a medical professional and veteran for 10 years, I now raise and show my Boston Terrier’s full time.  My husband Jason and I breed traditional Boston Terriers that adhere to the standard for showing. Originally I did not plan to operate as a professional dog breeder, I just wanted a wonderful pet for our family when our son was young. However after our first Boston Terrier, Champ, we became hooked and soon we added a second and then a third Boston Terrier to our family. I got Champ back in 2015 because after researching several different breeds I could tell that a Boston Terrier was the perfect breed of dog for our family!

Why were Boston Terriers perfect for us?  Besides the fact that we are semi-active and wanted a dog(s) that could easily travel with us whether we were going to the beach, the mountains, to visit friends or family, or just running errands around town, we also wanted a dog that was clean, low maintenance, social, smart, and fun.

• They are social and affectionate, not only do they love us but they also love people and other dogs which was important to us. 

• They are low maintenance for grooming due to their smooth, short coats. Also they don't have an undercoat which means that they shed very little. 

• They don't drool which was important to me since I'm the one that cleans the house lol.

• They are smart and eager to please!  They love learning new tricks and will do just about any trick for a treat.

• They are typically quiet with soft barks, some rarely bark at all.

• Most importantly, they are so much fun!  They love to play which has made them the best family pet to add to our family that we could have ever asked for!

 

They do really well with another dog for companionship so in 2016 we added Kalei to our home to give Champ some company and they are best friends.  If you can have more than one, we recommend having two so that they have each other to play with as they are a somewhat energetic breed that loves to play and snuggle even when you can't at the moment.

 

When Champ and Kalei were 5 & 6 years old, Jason & I came to realize that we were going to become empty-nesters all to soon.  That's when we decided that showing and breeding Boston Terriers was going to be the next phase of our life after our son was grown and moved out on his own.  In 2022 after researching a lot of different dogs we purchased our first show dog, beautiful Bentley.  After she earned her IABCA International Championship and National Championship titles, we started breeding these wonderful dogs in 2023.

We love this fantastically lovable breed so much that we decided to do our part in preserving it, which led to the birth of our business. Since then, we’ve known so much love, joy and excitement!
